One-Stop Shop Portal for Health and Wellness
The Ohio State University's approach to fostering a culture of well-being and optimal performance is through providing benefit-eligible faculty, staff, and their enrolled spouses and partners, approximately 40,000 members, with the programs and resources that empower them to pursue a life of health and wellness.
The Ohio State University (OSU) had set out to develop a member portal that would provide a “one-stop-shop” experience for Your Plan for Health participants. However, its initial attempt was unable to create the high-impact user experience that was envisioned. Not only was the current state platform extremely limited from a customization standpoint, but it also lacked the agility that was necessary to keep the user experience engaging. Because of this, OSU sought to secure vendor partnerships to create a next-generation member health portal.
Navigator was able to provide project management, business analysis and testing leadership for this high-visibility project that involved coordination across the University's Medical Center, Health Plan, and Information Technology and Human Resources Departments, as well as coordination with multiple vendors. Navigator utilized proven project management methodologies to ensure quality product delivery. “In addition to the complexity of the project, we were also up against an extremely tight deadline for go-live, with the added challenge of key project personnel turnover. Without Navigator’s expertise and dedicated partnership, I do not believe we could have delivered such a successful product within the expected time frame,” said the University’s Director of Benefits.
Through OSU's partnership with Navigator, they were able to deliver this project within target timelines and on budget. Also, they were able to achieve its key project goal of providing an engaging, configurable member web portal that is still in use today.
